La isla de Alcatraz.

America, que gran continente, quiero decir que gran pais! He pasado las ultimas tres semanas en la costa oeste, exactamente, en el estado numero 31, California. Estaba interesado en conocer todas esas ideas sobre el estilo de vida americano: fast food, obesos, mentalidad conservadora... Sin embargo, California no representa claramente ese estilo de vida.

America, what a big continent, I mean what a big country! I've spent the last three months in the west coast, exactly, in the 31st state, California. I was interested in getting to know all about the american lifestyle: fast food, obesity, right wing mentality... Nevertheless, California does not represent clearly that lifestyle but the opossite.

Alcatraz.

California, un estado donde Harvey Milk lucho por los derechos de la comunidad gay; donde los hippies quisieron cambiar el mundo en los 60 y 70 (Imagine all the people, living life in peace); donde los nombres de lugares son en espanyol; donde se habla mexicano (eso no es espanyol, si no que baje Dios y lo vea); y, finalmente, donde Terminator se convirtio en Gobernador.

California, an state where Harvey Milk fought for the rights of gay people and got shot; where the hippies wanted to change the world during the 60's and 70's (Imagine all the people, living life in peace); where Mexican is more spoken than English; and where Terminator became governor.

Celdas en Alcatraz.

San Francisco es una ciudad preciosa con sus tranvias circulando por las colinas; un puerto lleno de turistas y extranyos artistas ganandose la vida. El Golden Gate descansa majestuoso sobre la entrada de la bahia. Construido hace 76 anyos aun impresiona al cruzarlo, especialmente, durante la eterna neblina que siempre visita la ciudad.

San Francisco is a pretty city where the trolleys go along the hills, the harbour is full of tourists and artists making their living with very different arts. The Golden Gate bridge stands nicely on the entrance of the bay. Built 76 years ago it is still incredible crossing it, specially, when the fog covers part of it.

Atardecer en la bahia de SF.

Alcatraz, la prision mas famosa de la historia gracias a Hollywood. Ubicada a poca distancia del puerto de San Francisco, afirman que nadie se escapo de alli. Como saberlo si hubo 30 reclusos que nunca fueron encontrados tras su escapada. No creo que ningun recluso quisiera llamar a las noticias para desvelar la noticia, no creen?

Alcatraz, the most famous prison thanks to Hollywood. Located very close to the harbour, it is said that no one escaped from it. How can they know that if there were 30 inmates never found again after their escape? I don't think any of the inmates wanted to call the news to unveil the new, do you?

Secuoya.

San Diego, destino favorito para disfrutar de las playas en la costa oeste. Sin embargo, hay que armarse de valor para entra al agua. El agua del pacifico esta cerca del punto de congelacion. Las playas estan llenas de chicos guapos y chicas guapas, a la moda, con tatoos, con musculos bien definidos y todos queriendo ser unicos. Una ciudad simpatica donde la gente te da los buenos dias en la calle.

San Diego, favourite place to enjoy the beach in the west coast. But, you must be brave to get in the pacific waters. They are close to get frozen. The beach is full of boys and girls looking good, with tatoos, very fit, nice clothes... Everyone wants to look very good there. Finally, San Diego is a friendly city where many people greet to you while walking on the streets.

donde se invento la bicicleta de montanya.

Los Angeles, la meca del cine donde los artistas pagan si quieren tener una estrella en el paseo de la fama. Hollywood boulevard lleno de superheroes y personajes de pelicula, vagabundos y muchos souvenirs. El teatro Kodak, ahora llamado Dolby, es lugar de visita obligada. Santa Monica beach con sus casetas de Vigilantes de la playa y el parque de atracciones en el malecon me hicierecordar a Pamela Anderson, woah!

Los Angeles, the place where all the artists want to go, where they have to pay anually to maintain the stars in the fame walk. Hollywood boulevard is full of superheroes and characters from movies, homeless and souvenir shops. The Kodak theatre, now renamed Dolby theatre. Santa Monica where its baywatch posts and the pier reminded me the beautiful Pamela Anderson. A city of 17 million people and a really ineficient public transport makes you spend few hours to get from one point to another place in the city.

Con mis amigos hippies.

California, un estado peculiar lleno de mochileros pero, desgraciadamente, vagabundos mochileros. El medico te puede recetar marihuana si tienes dolor excesivo. Autostop no funciona como lo fue en la epoca hippie. Un lugar donde mucha gente practica deporte y cuida su dieta. Los perros son casi dioses. En definitiva, me ha gustado el estado aunque tendre que volver para visitar lugares como Yosemite o Redwood Park.

California, an state full of backpackers, but homeless backpackers. A doctor can prescribe you marihuana if you have unbereable pain. Hitchhiking does not work as it used to with the hippies. A place where the people does sport and care about the diet. Dogs are like Gods here. I really liked the city but I wil have to go back to visit incredible places like Yosemite Park or Redwood National Park.
