Siam

I arrived to the south of Thailand where the main touristic islands are like pukhet, koh pi pi, koh lanta... After talking to other travelers i decided to spend few days in koh lanta. The island is quiet and less touristic than other ones. The beaches did not look great thing to me I expected more. In the island all is about swimming, relaximg, explore the island with a scooter, massage... It does not sound bad but I wanted something more active so I traveled to the capital, Bangkok.

Bangkok is a big city with terrible traffic. The city is full of highways  and skyroads that make the city a bit too much. The big avenues look smaller due to lack of space. In Bangkok I celebrated Songkran which is the festival of new year when the sun goes through aries constellation, the first sign of zodiac. The festival consist in throwing water and powder to anyone without discrimination. It's a funny festival and the water is very welcome during the hot days in bangkok.

During Songkran it is possible to witness one of the wildest and savage moments on earth: a ladyboy dance between the traffic of the night. It's the beast giving himself away on the streets while the cars go through and close the window in case the beast attacks. This is proper of a National Geographic documentary. To witness a group of ladyboys dancing in the streets is an unforgettable painful memory.

Bangkok river

F
Festival Songkran

To finish just few facts about the country: the king has been ruling the country for the last 67 years, even more than the Queen; thai people like a lot pick ups and the country is full of them; the thai massage is good but painful, however, the complete thai massage is more relaxing, people told me.

Saludos,

Take care,

Roman.

Ninyos malayos

Let's start that i'm a bit fed up of sweating and being cold. Cold? Yes, because in these countries ac is on full. There is more than 15 degrees difference between the street and the bus or a shop. I still don't know how i haven't got a cold yet. However, the buses are good quality and i can sleep on them (thanks progress)

Singapore and Malaysia were the same country until Singapore was sent out of it against its own will in 1967. Nowadays, they compete to see which one builds higher: kuala lumpur or singapore city.

Singapore is more modern and western and the skyscrapers come out as mushroms. After two days there i had neckpain due to look upwards constantly. Nevertheless, people there get neckpain as they look downwards constantly while they play with the tablet or iphone. In Singapore you need a tablet, iphone or other device to be someone in the society, and that's why i bought a tablet.

Malaysia reminded my time in Iran: women with scarf, trains with women and men separated, and in general, an islamic atmosphere but a bit more relaxed. This is a country no ideal for vegetarian. In a normal restaurant you can have more than 15 choices of different dishes but any veggie option. The capital KL is very modern and old fashioned at the same time.

China? No, malaysia.

In Malaysia it is possible to visit cities like Malaca, which is very nice artificially, and islands like Penang and Langkawi. In Langkawi I noticed that the type of atmosphere was changing. More than travellers anymore i found young guys travelling to get drunk and make party every night. In Langkawi every road leads to a luxury resort. Amazing mangrove trees all around the island. By the way, Malaysia has a king chosen by other sultans and this king only rule for five years, then they choose another one

grandes amigos!

I'm already in Thailand but I will wait few days more to write about it. Sorry but i can't translate the poem.

Singapur de noche!!!

            'Viaja, querido viajero, viaja,

             y desnuda veras tu alma.'

Mas singapur
